I acknowledge with gratitude the invaluable opportunity given to me by IGAD Secretariat through the Director Agriculture and Environment to coordinate the review of the literature available Production, Value addition and Marketing of Non Wood Forest Products (NWFPs) from Arid and Semi Arid Lands (ASALS) in the IGAD the member states with a synthesis of the key issues in the region.
