Good Practices on Fodder and Fodder Production in Karamoja Cluster

BACKGROUND

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) region landmass
is about 60-70 percent Arid and Semiarid Lands (ASALs) characterised by low,
erratic rainfall. The pastoralists and agropastoralists who inhabit these ASALs
mainly depend on livestock keeping for their livelihood. However, livestock keeping is constrained by the effects of climate change that has contributed to increased frequency of drought and flood occurrence since the beginning of the 21st century.
